Family Sponsorship – Bring Your Loved Ones Home

At Makland Immigration, we believe families belong together. Through Canada’s Family Sponsorship Program, you can reunite with your loved ones and help them build a future in Canada as permanent residents.

Whether you’re sponsoring a spouse, partner, child, or parent, we guide you through every step—making the process easier, faster, and stress-free.

Who Can You Sponsor?

You may be eligible to sponsor if you are a:

  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • 18 years or older
  • Living in Canada (or planning to return, if you’re a citizen abroad)
  • Financially stable enough to support your sponsored family member
  • Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility

You can sponsor:

  • Spouse or common-law partner
  • Dependent children (biological or adopted)
  • Parents or grandparents
  • In limited cases: orphaned siblings, nieces/nephews, or grandchildren

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

+

How long does the sponsorship process take?

Processing times vary, but most spousal sponsorships take 10–12 months, and parent/grandparent sponsorships can take 1–2 years.

+

Can I sponsor my spouse if I’m living outside Canada?

Only if you’re a Canadian citizen (not a permanent resident) and you prove you will return to Canada once your spouse is approved.

+

What if I was recently married? Will that affect my sponsorship?

No, but you’ll need to prove the relationship is genuine—not just for immigration purposes. We help prepare your relationship evidence.

+

Can I sponsor my siblings?

Generally, no—siblings are not eligible under normal family sponsorship. However, there are exceptions (like orphaned minor siblings). Ask us to check your eligibility.

+

What if I don’t meet the income requirements?

For spousal and child sponsorship, there’s no minimum income requirement—but you must show you can support them. For parent/grandparent sponsorship, income is essential.
